You examine the paintings. None of them are especially well done, or particularly noteworthy. The most famous is "Whistler's Third Cousin." All of them have been donated by the Northwest family.
After an hour or so of browsing them, you become bored, and leave the museum.
It's time to head down the street and get the paper your mom sent you out for.
