Pull out the basket

You reach in and grab the handle of the basket.  Unfortunately, it reaches back and grabs you!  What you'd thought was a handle was a top row of teeth!

The thing in the filter bites your hand off.

"I told you!" Poolcheck yells.  "FILTERS ARE DEATH TRAPS!"

Although the hospital manages to save your life, they don't manage to save your hand.  You spend the rest of the summer getting used to using a hook.
